Specialised cells

Each cell is built for its job: the shape tells you the function.

1

Learn it

Relate the structure of specialised cells to their function, and describe levels of organisation

Idea 1 of 4

Structure fits function

A nerve cell is long, to carry messages a long way, and branched, to connect to many cells. A red blood cell has no nucleus, to make room for haemoglobin. The exam question is always: 'how does its structure help its function?'
